Alexander detailed career path

I grew up in Germany and was always super curious to learn, no matter what it was: how the universe works, playing music, theater, or understanding people that were very different from me. Following my curiosity, and after completing high school in Germany and the UK, I studied engineering and business at RWTH Aachen (#1 university in Germany) with the exaggerated expectation to understand how the world (physics) and society (business) work - Yes of course there was a lot missing here. What really got my passion was the international experience, so I continued studying at Tsinghua University (#1 university in China), IIT Madras (#1 university in India), and further placements in Canada and France.

Motivated by my interest in technology and people, I conducted research on the application of Artificial Intelligence in modern business. I then followed up with further research on collective intelligence and its drivers of performance (financial and ESG) in large organizations.

After graduation, I lived in Rome for some time and supported four startups in getting off the ground. Later, I started my own venture. Once again, driven by my passion for human potential and technological possibility, I created a mindfulness app startup. We eventually sold it to large French corporations to help their employees become more mindful, satisfied, and impactful at work.

After my startup was sold, I joined McKinsey. There, I had the opportunity to work in a truly inspiring range of industries, from private equity and high tech to mining over pharmaceutical production to tourism and e-commerce. Working with such a diverse range of industries allowed me to gain insights into different values, cultures, and problem-solving approaches prominent in different organizations. Here I developed a will to create organizations that place the human in the center of everything they do.

Later at McKinsey, I had the opportunity to work closely with leadership teams of industry champions, creating high-performing C-level teams and facilitating their development towards more vulnerability, trust, and commitment. I loved this work and decided to pursue it full-time.

Ever since, I have engaged in coaching training in France, the US, and Switzerland.

Alexander today

My professional purpose: I help individuals, teams, and organizations to unleash their potential. This means in practice:

  • Assist companies in defining and utilizing their culture to radiate from the inside out
  • Facilitate workshops to leverage collective intelligence and create trust and commitment
  • Coach senior leaders and teams to help them function on a higher level

I am particularly interested in fast-growing, ambitious businesses that place their employees at the core.

I facilitate transformation at three different levels:

  • Individual level: I coach a handful of successful company founders backed by venture capitalists with global growth ambitions. Through my coaching, I help them truly transform their industry. We mainly work on vision and courage.
  • Organizational level: I use my B-Harmonist work to create strong organizational cultures, resulting in high-performance outcomes and a great place for employees to work, aligned with their values of what matters most in an organization - its people.
  • Global level: As the Chief of Staff in CoachHub, the world's second-largest digital coaching company, with 330mEUR venture funding and 3500 coaches worldwide, we are on a mission to democratize digital coaching worldwide at all career levels.

In all of this work, what drives my passion is unleashing the full potential of individuals, organizations, and the world. I genuinely believe that creating cultures where people can thrive leads to a better world. Facilitating this change and being a strong partner to nudge and then observe this change in others is a true passion and privilege that I am immensely grateful for.
